Our commitment
Minkee is a dating app for adults aged 18 and over. Anyone under 18 is prohibited from using Minkee. We prohibit any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits, endangers or abuses children, including:
- child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including drawn, generated or edited images;
- grooming, sexual solicitation or sexualised conversation with or about minors;
- sextortion, trafficking or any attempt to arrange contact with a minor;
- content that normalises or promotes child sexual abuse; and
- using Minkee to find, contact or share information about minors.
Age assurance
- Every member must enter their date of birth during sign-up. Anyone who indicates they are under 18 cannot create a profile.
- Our terms require all members to be 18 or older.
- Photo verification compares a live selfie with profile photos. Our review team rejects verification when they can't confirm the person is 18 or over.
- Any account we believe belongs to a minor is removed.
Reporting in the app
Members can report any profile or conversation from within the app — open the profile or chat, tap the menu, then Report. Reports concerning a minor or child safety are prioritised for review. You can also contact our child safety point of contact directly (see below), without needing a Minkee account.
How we respond
- Our trained safety team reviews reports and takes action, including immediately removing content and permanently banning accounts involved in CSAE.
- We take steps to stop banned people from returning.
- Where we obtain actual knowledge of CSAM on Minkee, we remove it and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or relevant regional and national authorities, as required by applicable law.
- We preserve relevant information as required by law and cooperate with law enforcement investigations.
Prevention
- Photos sent in chat are blurred by default until the recipient chooses to view them, and members are asked “Are you sure?” before sending messages that may be hurtful.
- Members can block anyone, and hidden words let them filter unwanted content.
- We review our safety systems regularly and update them as risks change.
Compliance with law
Minkee complies with applicable child safety laws in the regions where it operates, including requirements to report CSAM to relevant authorities.
Child safety point of contact
Our designated child safety contact can speak to our CSAM prevention practices and compliance, and receives reports from anyone — members or not:
Email: safety@minkee.app
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. You can also report to NCMEC's CyberTipline or, in the UK, the Internet Watch Foundation.
